PDA- and Agent-based Execution of Workflow Tasks

چکیده
With the rise of global networks like the Internet the importance of workflow environments is growing. Especially the combination with software agents allows to counter deficiencies of traditional client/server based workflow systems. In this setting new trends in hardand software such personal digital assistants (PDAs) and wireless technologies cause a change in the execution of workflow tasks. Therefore, this paper introduces the AWA/PDA prototype which combines a PDA with an agent-based workflow system. The pros and cons of PDA-based task execution are discussed in this setting, and the technical details of the prototype are presented.
